By 2050, several countries could be producing hydrogen at close to $1.50 per kg, with the lowest end of the production costs potentially being close to $1.20 per kg. Countries with limited low-cost clean energy potential would see domestically produced hydrogen being significantly more expensive, typically above $3.50 per kg.
