Making green steel using carbon capture and storage and hydrogen solutions

Hydrogen can replace coal/coke in the steelmaking process, or can be used to directly reduce iron ore. However, hydrogen production itself incurs emissions – and potentially in significant amounts depending on the emissions intensity of the grid used to supply electricity for electrolysis.
