Route assessment for hydrogen link between Scotland and Germany

A €3 billion hydrogen pipeline from the Scottish North Sea to Emden in Germany could supply 10% of the EU’s requirements by 2035. The Scottish Government and industry have funded the first phase of a Net Zero Technology Centre project examining the options for transporting green hydrogen by pipeline from Scotland to Germany. The preferred option is a new offshore H2 pipeline to Germany routed via the Danish and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.
