Hydrogen exports from the UK to Europe

The UK can leverage its geographic proximity to Europe, making it cost-effective for pipeline hydrogen export. Pipeline transport is cheaper and more efficient than shipping, especially for distances up to 2,000 km. The UK aligns with hydrogen policies in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, making them prime export targets. The EU’s import target of 10 Mtpa by 2030 gives the UK an opportunity to become an exporter.
