If hydrogen is part of the net zero equation, then hydrogen storage sites are imperative. Beyond the electricity market, hydrogen is also set to play a key role in the decarbonisation of a number of industries, and for specific transport and heat applications. A reliable and consistent supply of hydrogen supply is an absolute must for these offtakers if they are prepared to invest in swapping old for clean energy. Given the intermittent production patterns from green hydrogen producers, hydrogen storage is imperative to unlock these applications.
